FBA Official Statement on ReConnect Letter
“The Fiber Broadband Association applauds the continued work by USDA programs to connect rural Americans to broadband services. In continuing our advocacy for rural Americans to have access to reliable, high-speed broadband services, we support the coalition’s ask to the House and Senate Committees on Agriculture to codify a minimum service level commitment of 100 Mbps symmetrical broadband service in the Farm Bill for any applicant seeking funding through ReConnect. The third round of ReConnect has proven that there is a surplus of providers interested and able to deliver better broadband services to rural America. Our hope in raising the minimum standard is to ensure that every American to benefit from the Farm Bill will have access to high-quality, high-speed fiber broadband.”
