Render Expands Mobile Technology to Boost Field Adoption and Productivity https://fiberbroadband.org/2024/07/30/render-expands-mobile-technology-to-boost-field-adoption-and-productivity/ Tue, 30 Jul 2024 13:00:54 +0000 https://fiberbroadband.org/?p=16906 Render Expands Mobile Technology to Boost Field Adoption and Productivity

NASHVILLE, TENN.—(July 30, 2024)NASHVILLE, TENN.—(July 30, 2024)—Today at Fiber Connect 2024, Render Networks announced the expansion of its mobile application suite and device choice, further enhancing its position as the industry leader in construction management and enabling network and construction teams to build at least 15% faster.

This latest release advances Render’s mobile-first approach and empowers field crews to document and close out construction, connection, or maintenance work with their preferred smartphone or tablet device. Crews can now edit proposed tasks and redline changes on any device, capturing all work completed on the network to support highly accurate progress reporting and as-built handover. This flexibility of device choice increases field adoption, and the ability to capture data and network changes in real-time significantly increases field-to-office productivity.

Render Networks CEO Sam Pratt stated, “Rising costs of construction, increases in demand for broadband services, and a forecasted constraint of skilled labor create a challenging environment for network operators and builders. Our customers have proven that crew productivity can be improved with purpose-built technology, and the cumulative cost of this labor represents the majority of a project’s CAPEX investment. This latest mobile capability from Render enables teams to do more with their device of choice, so no matter what platform they’re accustomed to, all teams can adopt the Render mobile app seamlessly and focus on getting more work done every day.”

Render’s expanded mobile application features include:

  • Fully flexible corporate device options, supporting Apple and Android mobile phone and tablet devices
  • Intuitive and simple approach to redlining changes, allowing field crews to capture updates accurately at the job site
  • Ability to create new tasks dynamically in the field, capturing ad-hoc changes to a crew’s workload in real-time

NTIA’s $42.45 billion Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) funding will enable the industry to connect more communities to reliable broadband than ever before. However, the shortage of skilled technicians remains a challenge. While the industry works to accelerate recruitment and training, Render’s field mobility enhancements will enable projects to accomplish more with the same or fewer resources and ultimately connect these communities faster.

Render is showcasing its construction management platform, including the latest mobile enhancements, at Fiber Connect, exhibition booth #306, from July 28-31.

Home Telecom Boosts Fiber Deployment Efficiency with Render https://fiberbroadband.org/2024/07/09/home-telecom-boosts-fiber-deployment-efficiency-with-render/ Tue, 09 Jul 2024 14:18:48 +0000 https://fiberbroadband.org/?p=16538

Home Telecom Boosts Fiber Deployment Efficiency with Render

DENVER–Render Networks today announced Home Telecom, one of South Carolina’s largest independently owned telecom companies, has chosen Render’s construction management platform to enhance efficiency and accelerate the construction of planned fiber infrastructure. By leveraging Render’s platform, Home Telecom expects to more than double the fiber miles constructed each year with the same number of crews.

Home Telecom provides residential and business internet services through a fiber-rich broadband network in Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties in South Carolina. Their tenacity to take advantage of all available funding opportunities has accelerated Home Telecom’s fiber expansion efforts, especially in rural communities where the cost to build fiber out is exceedingly high. In addition to rural broadband expansion efforts, Charleston’s continuous growth and the development of new communities have significantly increased the demand for high-performance connectivity. With several projects being completed in tandem and with fixed deadlines, Home Telecom sought to improve the efficiency of the physical construction process.

After evaluating other construction management platforms, Home Telecom selected Render for its proven track record of project success and ability to build considerably faster than other market solutions. Render’s platform offers seamless automation for the complex requirements of today’s network build and maintenance projects, and real-time visibility and insights for all stakeholders, ensuring enhanced coordination of work and productivity across all field and office teams.

“Manual, paper-based construction processes cannot scale in today’s marketplace,” said Bobby Armentrout, Senior Director of Network Planning and Operations at Home Telecom. “We recognized that the technology we offer to our customers cannot be the only thing that evolves, and that is where Render is a game-changer. Previously, we could install 150 miles of fiber per year. With Render, we’ll scale to 500 miles per year without increasing staff. This is a significant improvement of 233% in our productivity.”

Don Wadas, CRO of Render Networks, stated, “Network operators and builders nationwide are constructing broadband infrastructure that will connect and support communities for generations. Render simplifies and speeds up this process by optimizing the allocation of work and teams, making them more productive. We’re thrilled to enable such efficiency for Home Telecom and other service providers aiming to build smarter and connect customers faster.”

Render and VETRO Announce Integration that Accelerates Connectivity by Streamlining the End-to-End Connection Process https://fiberbroadband.org/2023/06/20/render-and-vetro-announce-integration-that-accelerates-connectivity-by-streamlining-the-end-to-end-connection-process/ Tue, 20 Jun 2023 13:00:12 +0000 https://fiberbroadband.org/?p=8910 Render and VETRO Announce Integration that Accelerates Connectivity by Streamlining the End-to-End Connection Process

Partnership combines leading fiber management and construction management capabilities, enabling end-to-end project visibility and reduced operating costs

DENVER, CO.—(June 20, 2023)—Global leader in geospatial network construction technology, Render Networks, today announced an integration partnership with VETRO, the leading global provider of open, cloud-native fiber management system of record. This collaboration unifies market-leading geospatial construction management and fiber management capabilities to accelerate customer connectivity and efficiently maintain quality fiber infrastructure.

With significant public and private investment hitting the US market this year, the industry is preparing for peak deployment volumes and time-based delivery mandates to connect underserved locations. Proven solutions that streamline customer connections and network operations are therefore in high demand.

Render and VETRO both offer class-leading solutions with deep capabilities in their respective domains. Render’s automated scope creation, work management, and real-time performance insights enable field and project teams to be hyper-productive, by streamlining the construction and maintenance of high-quality networks. VETRO serves as the network’s design source and ultimate system of record, bridging the gap between GIS mapping and fiber operations, offering seamless data sharing and integrated workflows, and enabling operators to efficiently plan, design, build, and manage fiber networks.

This latest integration automates and simplifies the process from sign-up to ‘ready for connection’, removing all swivel chair processes between construction and operations. With two-way information flows and real-time geospatial data, Render and VETRO eliminate construction handover efforts, maintain 100% network data integrity, and significantly reduce time-to-connect.

“Network operators need to streamline everything as they rush to build the highest quality long-term fiber infrastructure in a new wave of integrated digital efficiency. We’re taking this concept to the next level by turning our designs outward for pick up and actioning by construction management solutions and round tripping changes and as-builts back into VETRO as the system of record,” said Will Mitchell, CEO at VETRO. “This partnership between VETRO and Render is exciting because it means network operators now have end-to-end visibility across the lifecycle to create their best network and continue to operate at optimized levels.”

“Our and VETRO’s ideology and approach is open and best-of-breed. By bringing our respective network construction and fiber management solutions together and utilizing class-leading API infrastructure, operators now have a superior and proven alternative to ‘jack of all trade, master of some’ and custom-developed solutions,” said Sam Pratt, CEO at Render Networks. “Our collaboration and active partnership with VETRO dates back to 2018, and both companies are incredibly proud of the customer outcomes that have since become benchmarks for the industry. With this latest integration, we can confidently and efficiently enable the next generation of networks, significantly reduce cost to build and operate, and most importantly – connect communities in record time.”

The platforms’ integration and partnership has already enabled construction to connection timelines of just ten weeks, doubled monthly customer drop targets, and in empower, delivered by Craighead Electric’s recently completed cooperative build, installed over 14,000 service locations in under three years.

“Utilizing the VETRO and Render integration has been transformative for us at empower. Their agile software solutions have allowed us to build networks faster than ever before. Render’s construction platform and VETRO’s system of record seamlessly integrate geospatial data, streamlining operations and delivering real-time insights. Our partnership with VETRO and Render has truly revolutionized our end-to-end network construction and management processes,” said Jeremiah Sloan, CEO of Craighead Electric Cooperative and empower. “With the high level of interoperability between the two solutions, empower was able to deploy over 3,000 miles of fiber network infrastructure 20 months ahead of schedule and 14% under budget.”

Render and VETRO will host a webinar with empower on Wednesday, June 28, at 2 pm ET to share project examples of how this collaboration significantly streamlines network deployment and operations. To register, visit https://bit.ly/vetro-render.
