From manufacturing to operation\, FTTH demonstrates superior sustainability across all metrics. \nKey findings include: \n\n60% lower embodied carbon: FTTH networks require significantly fewer resources to build.\n7% less installation carbon: FTTH deployment has a smaller carbon footprint.\nUp to 96% lower operational carbon: FTTH networks consume far less energy.\n18% less carbon from customer premise equipment: FTTH devices have a smaller environmental impact.\n\nWhile overbuilding an HFC network with fiber may initially increase carbon emissions\, the long-term benefits are substantial. Within six years\, the operational carbon savings from fiber-based services offset the initial investment\, making FTTH the clear sustainability leader. \nJoin our webinar to delve deeper into these groundbreaking results and discover how fiber can help your organization achieve its environmental goals. \n \n \n Register Now URL:https://fiberbroadband.org/event/fba-presents-fiber-outshines-hfc-in-sustainability-fba-study/ CATEGORIES:Sponsored Webinars,Webinars ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/png:https://fiberbroadband.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/FBA_Logo_Resized.png END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/New_York:20240815T130000 DTEND;TZID=America/New_York:20240815T140000 DTSTAMP:20241105T233541 CREATED:20240807T172435Z LAST-MODIFIED:20240809T143351Z UID:10000249-1723726800-1723730400@fiberbroadband.org SUMMARY:FBA Presents - Research: Accelerating Locates White Paper DESCRIPTION:Building fiber networks as quickly as possible is a fundamental necessity for service providers\, construction firms\, and all other stakeholders in the process. The question is how effectively and how efficiently applications will run. \nA new study demonstrates\, via solid scientific evidence\, that with higher bandwidth comes greater efficiency… and fewer wasted human hours. A user at 100/20 Mbps wastes about 18 minutes per day (adding many increments of a few seconds each) versus a user at 700/500 Mbps (an example of a gigabit customer constrained by Wi-Fi etc.) This time saved obviously has significant financial benefits – to both the individual and the country. \nThis session will discuss the evidence behind the study\, and its full implications for fiber and broadband. \nSpecial Guests: \n\n\n\n\n \nJohn George \nSr Director\, Solutions Engineering\n& Professional Services \nOFS \n\n \n\n\n \nMichael Render \nFounder and CEO \nRVA LLC \n\n\n\n\n  \n \n \n Register Now URL:https://fiberbroadband.org/event/ffb-week-32-why-you-should-always-sign-up-for-gig-service/ CATEGORIES:Fiber For Breakfast,Webinars ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://fiberbroadband.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/FFB_Banner.jpg END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/Detroit:20240731T100000 DTEND;TZID=America/Detroit:20240731T103000 DTSTAMP:20241105T233541 CREATED:20240728T050028Z LAST-MODIFIED:20240728T180421Z UID:10000245-1722420000-1722421800@fiberbroadband.org SUMMARY:Hockey\, Community & Fiber: How Each Foster’s Growth with The Other DESCRIPTION:This week’s episode of Fiber for Breakfast comes to you from the main stage of Fiber Connect 2024 in Nashville\, TN\, or as it is known to hockey fans\, “Smashville”. Large ISPs began displaying them in April. By October\, all ISPs will be required to provide transparency through these labels that include pricing\, data caps\, bundling\, and “typical” network performance metrics. \nThe network performance being delivered to a subscriber’s address can be markedly different from what people living in that household actually experience. Concerns about last mile connectivity can extend to concerns about the last few feet. When there is not a direct wired connection\, aspects such as distance to the router\, signal interference\, equipment age\, and more can significantly degrade throughput and latency. \nIn this discussion\, we will cover the key differences in these measurements for regulatory compliance\, competitive intelligence\, and service validation. Customer perception will continue to be an essential factor in how subscribers value their service. Having third-party validation of the actual network performance being delivered to households can maximize the listed claims of “typical” performance on labels while proving consumer value\, reducing churn\, and offering protection from unjustified accusations. \nSpecial Guest: \n\n\n\n\n \nBryan Darr \nVP – Government Affairs \nOokla \n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n \n \n Register Now URL:https://fiberbroadband.org/event/ffb-week-29-comparing-delivered-vs-perceived-network-performance/ CATEGORIES:Fiber For Breakfast,Webinars ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://fiberbroadband.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/FFB_Banner.jpg END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/New_York:20240716T110000 DTEND;TZID=America/New_York:20240716T120000 DTSTAMP:20241105T233541 CREATED:20240701T194917Z LAST-MODIFIED:20240701T203449Z UID:10000230-1721127600-1721131200@fiberbroadband.org SUMMARY:FBA Presents – Women in Fiber: Industry Leader Ashley Travers and Her Impact on the Telecom Industry DESCRIPTION:Join us for insights from Ashley Travers\, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Business Development at KGPCo.
