FBA Presents – FBA Inaugural Fiber Deployment Cost Survey Results – Assessing the Landscape Ahead of BEAD

The Fiber Broadband Association and Cartesian are proud to release the findings from our inaugural Fiber Deployment Study.

The next five to ten years will be the most critical in broadband infrastructure as we look to accomplish the ambitious goal of delivering high speed internet access to all Americans. Central to this mission are the public and private investments that are fueling historic levels of deployment. The largest of these – the Broadband, Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program – dedicates $42.45B to the effort. This year, we’ll start to see BEAD funds flow through state broadband offices to subgrantee winners.

As we enter this next phase in building broadband infrastructure, it’s more important than ever to understand the detail behind construction costs. Better insight into the cost of fiber deployment will help industry and policymakers to realize the full potential of fiber broadband and reach the greatest number of people.
